Dr Vivek saw this lovely gentleman to help restore and enhance his smile. The patient was complaining of discolouration of his enamel and staining of his existent composite/white fillings.
After examination it became apparent that the staining was due to previous tetracycline antibiotics, creating a bluish-grey undertone to the enamel. This type of staining is incredibly difficult to eliminate but we were determined to try and lighten as much as we could.

Enlighten Evo3 combination whitening was used before the restorative treatment took place, this is so that Dr Vivek could shade match the new fillings to the new lightened tooth colour.

Dr Vivek took impressions of the patients’ teeth to make whitening trays. The patient then took the Enlighten Evo3 whitening kit home, where he applied the whitening gel for a few weeks as per the manufacturer’s protocol. He also underwent a session of in-surgery tooth whitening.

Once the whitening treatment had been completed Dr Chadha then carried out the re-restoration of the patient’s discoloured fillings. Dr Chadha completed the restorations in a single appointment session to the immense satisfaction of the patient.
